Fred Thompson’s Pan-Islamist Campaign Manager

As per Debbie Schlussel:

Don’t believe Thompson’s claim that he understands the Islamist jihadist threat to America. His announcement, yesterday, of his choice of Spencer Abraham as campaign manager, told us everything we need to know. Although Abraham, of Lebanese descent, is a Christian, he is a career water carrier for Islamists of the most extremist stripe and made that the cornerstone of his failed, one-term Senate career and equally lousy tenure as Energy Secretary.

As a Senator, he took marching orders from James Zogby of the pan-Islamist Arab American Institute, opposing profiling of Arabs, the use of secret evidence against Muslims (at the behest of Muslim groups), attempting to repeal the Clinton counterterrorism package, refusing to fund computer tracking of student and other foreign aliens, giving millions in our tax money right to Hezbollah, and putting CAIR on the map on Capitol Hill (taking the group’s officials around to meet other Senators and Members of Congress). He took campaign contributions from the relatives of Hezbollah-backed top Lebanese officials after he got the group millions in our tax money.

Spence was one of only two Senators in the entire U.S. Senate who refused to sign a letter calling on President Clinton to condemn Palestinian terrorism and Yasser Arafat. This was at the height of a series of homicide bombings in Israel in 1999 and 2000.

Michelle Malkin adds that besides being an Islamist sympathyzer, Spencer Abraham is also an Open Borders advocate:

In my 2002 book Invasion (p. 71, 76), I noted the open-borders obstructionism of former Sen. Spencer Abraham (R-Michigan), who fought to block the implementation of two different tracking databases–one for foreign student visa holders and the other for all temporary visitors (which was mandated by Section 110 of the 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act). Abraham led efforts to starve the first database of funding and crusaded several times to kill Section 110 altogether. On September 11, 2001, neither of those databases was in place. To this day, they remain incomplete.

In the beginning, I gave money to Fred Thompson, the Reagan-esque character who turned the heads of conservatives, rapped the knuckles of neo-Cons, and kicked the butts of the Far Left. It wasn’t easy giving money to him, because his website didn’t work, and no one on his staff responded to emails that said, “Hey! I wanna give you money!” Then I heard he asked Spencer Abraham to join his staff. I wrote to him asking why. And again, even as an intrepeid contributor, I got the profound white silence. So now, I’m here to say clearly — I’m *through* with Fred. He needs to head back to television, where he can play whatever character he’d like to be. The last thing we need in the United States is a president who is unresponsive, unaware and unable to tell friend from foe.

Can anyone send websites, names of books, other sources, etc., confirming Spencer Abraham’s connections to Hezbollah?

I was seriously considering supporting Fred Thompson because I disliked various stances of the other candidates, but I will not support someone who has any connection with Hezbollah.

If I can confirm this info, I will let Mr. Thompson know that it is the reason I can’t support him.

    Thank You.

Thanks for all the info you left at Right Truth. I’m always interested in how a politician voted in the past. It’s a good indicator of what they believe and how they will act in the future. Much appreciated.

Funny how you so-called conservatives have no problem with Zionist Israeli connections with candidates (who are also open border nuts). Heck, look at Abramoff! Instead of wringing your hands about someone who has some tie to ONE foreign interest while igorning ties to OTHERS, why not insist on a candidate that actually is loyal to the US FIRST. Not an “Israel First” candidate like Giuliani and/or a CFR candidate like, well, Giuliani, Romney, etc…..

  8. Seek Says:

Back in the mid 90s Sen. Abraham had a certain loyal staffer who worked, aong other things, on immigration issues. Her name? Ann Coulter. Let’s see if someone has the guts to ask her about that phase of her career.

  9. Every single undocumented (illegal alien) in America pays property taxes. There
are no exceptions, unless the undocumented worker lives in a church parsonage.
Otherwise, every square inch of every apartment house and rental house occupied by illegal aliens in America is taxed every year without exception. The landlord, owner or mortgage holder takes the funds paid by the illegal alien and at the end of the year, pays the taxes at the same millage rate you and I pay. There are no exceptions just because they are not here legally. Just ask your local tax entity.

In addition, every single illegal alien pays the exact same sales tax that you
and I pay, normally 7% across the country. There are not two lines at the local
Walmart, one for documented customers and one for undocumented. We all pay the same. There are no exceptions.

I have started a collection of hundreds of pay stubs for illegal immigrants.
Surprisingly, they all have federal and state income taxes deducted, as well as
Social Security taxes and medicare taxes. If an illegal immigrant works for a
company of any jsut about any size, or agriculture business/farm, they obtain an ITIN number and the illegal immigrant pays the same deductions as you and I. They are provided a W2 showing this at the end of the year. The only exception are day laborers who get paid for lawn work, house cleaning, short term jobs, etc. But don’t most American teenagers do the same…not report of these earnings and pay no taxes? Mine did.

If we send these people back, the tax rolls in many states would dwindle
about 20%. I don’t know anyone who wants a pay reduction of 20%, just to make them leave. Rather than send back, make them legal and use their incredible work ethic and help their kids, unless we wish to invoke Jim Crow laws as was done to keep black kids out of schools. Maybe if conservatives really acted out true Christian beliefs, which they taut publicly, rather than ethnocentric beliefs they demonstrate, we’d have a more harmonious culture. I encourage you to view my god-sons story on “Candelario: A Young Immigrant’s Story.”

I would like to say tat every Lebanese Christian I’ve ever met hates the Arabs. Abraham seems to be an anomaly. I’m a liberal, but but I support Israel מאה אחוז ) 100%) However i’m not a “my country right or wrong.” patriot for either the US or Israel. Both are inhabited by human beings who can and do make mistakes, sometimes with horrible consequences. I prefer actions rather than words. I may not wave the flag of either country, but I go out of my way to support the American worker and often pay more to buy made in USA stuff. I showed support for Israel by living there for several years, paying my taxes and contributing to the economy. I wish I had never returned. I also turn pens on a lathe that have an Israeli flag inlay an give them away or sell them at cost.
