Thompson in favor of Amnesty as long as it’s not “easy”

In a recent appearance on the program Hannity and Colmes, Fred Dalton Thompson stated very clearly that getting the Illegal Alien Trespassers out of the country “is not gonna happen” and that the solution is to “work out a deal where they can have some aspirations of citizenship” but that we shouldn’t make it “easy” so that it is not unfair to the other Aliens waiting to get in. Pro Amnesty Fred?

  1. Nathan LaHue, Concord NH Says:

Fred Thompson is a neocon globalist not unlike McCain.

Although Fred Thompson is tougher than McCain and Giuliani on border enforcement, which isn’t saying much seeing how they line up with Barack Obama, he had a rather lackluster record on immigration while in the Senate. As one commentator notes: “Overall, Americans for Better Immigration gives [Thompson] a career grade of C; on chain migration, C; visa lottery, C-; reducing unnecessary visas, F; on reducing asylum fraud, C-; on reducing amnesties, D; and on interior enforcement, C+. Although he was tough on border control, he was lacking in almost every other area.”

Fred Thompson also supports affirmative action, and ideologically worships free trade, regardless how much it harms America. Historically, conservatives have opposed free trade, but Thompson, like others, has been “neoconned” into backing it.

He furthermore is a “fellow” at the American Enterprise Institute, one of the largest (and most sinister) neocon think-tanks, which demonstrates where his true loyalty lies. If you did not receive the Burkean memo, the transformation of the Middle East to liberal democracy is Jacobin, not conservative. There is not a single thing conservative about the membership of AEI. They are neocon / neoliberal globalists.

Why are neoncons backing Thompson? Ideally, being ex-Trotskyites themselves, neocons would prefer a liberal candidate, like McCain, Giuliani or Romney. But they see that conservatives deplore these candidates, and now are going to try to peddle Fred Thompson, who is just socially conservative enough and just tough enough on the borders, even if it is feigned, to woo naive GOP voters. But let’s hope this nefarious neocon plot fails.

Let’s pray that the more real conservatives learn about Fred Thompson, the more unacceptable he will appear. Use your BRAIN America, and not fall for sharply dressed, full set of ‘sexy’ hair (Romney/Edwards), nor for someone who ‘Acts’ on TV.

A Dean of a College I know was touting a large RUDY sign. I asked him why Rudy, and he said, “Because he’s from MY state…I gotta support the home team!”. This guy has a MASTERS DEGREE and TEACHES! He has no friggin clue. I encourage all of you to not vote on ‘popularity’ but rather on who is the best candidate for the job. Fred Thompson will KEEP US IN IRAQ FOR A LONG LONG TIME according to his Fox News interview. Please research for yourselves America. It should make you puke if you truely knew who some of these people are.

  2. Bret Says:

Fred Thompson is a lobbyist and a political insider, part of the machine in Washington. Yeah, just what we need at this point, MORE Bush 2.0. Come on America, wake up!

  3. Donna Says:

Nice job on getting this site up!

As Dick Morris said the other night “Fred Thompson is kinda like a blind date…you’re all excited till you open the door….and then it’s like….Whoa!”

Gotta go drop your site link in a couple of places…..keep up the good work.

  4. Sturm Ruger Says:

Fred Thompson said on Fox News Sunday, “You know, if you have the right kind of policies, and you’re not encouraging people to come here and encouraging them to stay once they’re here, they’ll go back, many of them, of their own volition, instead of having to, you know, load up moving vans and rounding people up. That’s not going to happen.”

Have you considered the logistical problem of rounding up 12 to 20 million illegals and deporting them? If the problem is closer to 20 million, as many think, how do we do it? The average Greyhound bus seats 50. That’s 400,000 busloads. How many of these buses does the government have that we can use for this job?

We could use a fleet of Boeing 747-300’s to fly ’em out. With a seating capacity of 470, only 42,553 flights would be required to remove them all. I’ll leave it to you “conservatives” who felt the need to put up this website to calculate how many pounds of jet fuel that will require, how much it will cost the taxpayers and how long it will take. Of course, you’ll still neeed to lease the buses to get ’em to the airport.

All that money would be be better spent on building the fence. And, as Fred says, once that’s done, then we need to take away the private-sector and public-sector incentives that draw illegals accross the border and to keep them here.

  5. Fred thompson is a bush clone. I cant believe some people are falling for it.

  6. Akbar Says:

Kudos on the website. My advice: keep it as scholary as possible and shy away from any ad-hominem attacks or political slander. The key is to remain credible. Aside from that, I like what I am reading, and the Country really needs to do their research on Fred Thompson before giving him a free pass. I have yet to see, a solid well documented article articulating Fred Thompson political strengths. The fact of the matter is, they are non-existent when compared to the other GOP front-runners, particularly Governor Mitt Romney.

  7. tommyd4 Says:

Ahh, we’ve got a Romney supporter lurking the anti-Thompson sites. It must really be rough at 10%.

  8. Akbar Says:

You’re right it’s been rough leading in Iowa, New Hampshire, California, and possibly Nevada (the states that actually matter). Talk about rough, have you seen Fred uhh speak uhh without a uhh script. Ouch.

  9. shelbysbest Says:

Fred Thompson said Secure the Borders! Enforce the laws on the books!

  10. Gary Says:

Great site. As a conservative, I do not support John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, Fred or Thompson or Mitt Romeny. The candidates I support are in the lower tier. Given the fact that they are conservatives who cannot be bought by special interest groups and corporations who want cheap labor, they don’t have the money to buy the time to get their message our via the main stream media.

  11. Gary Says:

To shelbysbest: Thompson’s rhetoric on immigration is diametrically opposed to his record on immigration. Thompson significantly contributed to the immigration problem.

  12. S.K. Johnson Says:

I’m excited about this website! People are getting so hoodwinked, they are running to Fred thinking he’s a conservative savior, but he’s just like bush! He acts conservative and then wham, it’s gone. I’m personally for Duncan Hunter. The father of the border fence, a true fair trade advocate, a fighter against NAFTA, and consistently prolife from the beginning. He’s much closer to a reagan candidate than Fred ever could hope to be.

  13. Great site. Informed conservatives know that Fred D. Thompson is a neocon globalist. The neocons and ignorant within the GOP are so enamored with Thompson that they are either not aware of his record on conservative issues, are willing to ignore it or, even worse, don’t see any problem with it. Thompson’s senate record is a red flag to conservatism.

I support Duncan Hunter – a genuine conservative.

  14. Fred Thompson: Can’t remember supporting right to choose abortion
Fred Thompson says he does not remember taking a pro-choice stand on abortion.
